A Nation of Half-Truth, Half-Truths are lies

In the novel Twenties Girl, (Mom - to Lara Lington)

"Your father always tries to see the good side of people; to find the excuse. But sometimes there isn't a good side. There isn't an excuse."

A very enticing girly novel but you can easily drown into its magical mystery. This quote which I spent lot of time reflecting on reminds me very much of Yahya Jammeh. I was surprised that when I challenged myself to point out ONE good side of Jammeh, I came off empty handed.

I woke up to the news that Tina Faal, a brave woman who never allowed her conscience to be prostituted was arrested by Jammeh on bogus charges. Immediately, I could see why I was right, “Sometimes there is no good side and there isn't an excuse” Jammeh is just a pure evil.

Her crime, she openly change her support from Jammeh to Mamma Kandeh (GDC). Somehow this brushed his fucking ego and he was embarrassed, in his teensy–weensy head no one is entitled to their opinion, freedom is only free if it favors him. He was out for revenge without compassion, it doesn’t matter that she was a woman or a mother. He is gonna drag her through the mud, humiliate her and gets the short satisfaction of victory. Just as he did with Lawyer Darboe and his supporters, some women, some nursing mothers.

In the world of a Bully, there is no middle ground, its win or loss and he was gonna win but he is not winning only if he knew.

I wish Jammeh’s smartness was as big as his ego. I was ones told that men with big egos have tiny mutton daggers. I won’t be surprised if Jammeh’s Clam-hammer is as big as my pinky. Sorry, this wasn’t part of the subject but am mad, I can’t stand a woman being bullied especially by a man.

A nation were everything flies, a nation where you do not care as long as you’re not directly affected is a nation of hypocrites.

Anyways, moving on. Victory is near, Jammeh is feeling the heat. Mamma Kandeh has hit a nerve, the youths, the women, the good citizens of The Gambia have made their choice and the choice is not Jammeh. He will do anything between now and the elections to bring down our morals, to distract us but we must not let him. What we should be focused on instead is engage the international community, raise the alarms now, for a well monitored elections. It is possible.

Even Yahya Jammeh’s mother will vote against him. Let’s come together fellow Gambians, victory is possible, victory is close.
