Neutral or Independent:

Good evening friends, I hope ya’ll (hate this word but whatever :) ) had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. It’s been super busy for me these past couple of weeks but couldn’t wait to continue the dialogue with my wonderful friends. As you know already, I keep it 100% real here, right? I don’t have to be always right but I won’t compromise on what I have to say just to please my readers or fall in-line with the STRUGGLERS. No, that’s NOT how I roll, if you want someone to massage your ego or people who always agrees with you, you know where to look, there are no shortage of ass-kissers on Facebook NOT here lol.

Alright, let’s move on. I am sympathetic to UDP’s current situation and kinna beginning to fall in LOVE with them for a bit and that is coming from a person who has been critical of the party for the longest. I confess. Naturally I hate bullies, the recent diaspora treatment of UDP was nothing short of betrayal. They use the Party, misuse them, send the old men to jail and dump them for some fantasy. You know what am gonna say after this, right? Shame on you!! UDP if you are listening, I urge you to NOT let anyone bully you into submission. You cannot have an established Political Party be toyed around by some wannabe political experts. Stand your ground.

Dr. Touray is NOT a neutral candidate, she was NOT picked by the other established parties as a coalition candidate which I believe is the natural selection order. She like all the others have political ambition and she has been planning her candidacy for a long time. For those of you with the nerves to criticize Mamma for being a National Assembly member why do you ignore Dr. Touray lack of voice in the deteriorating democratic situation in The Gambia all these years? Hello, am talking to you, any answers?? She was never vocal about the injustices in The Gambia, where was your intellectual while all the injustices was happening. Like one of my friends here (Foday Jawla) noted, “Where was Dr. Touray when UDP’s executives were arrested,” did she denounce it? NO. I’ll tell you what she was doing, she was busy preparing her candidacy, her website, her manifesto etc. she cares less what happened to Lawyer Darboe or his supporters.

After sending the poor man and his old comrades to jail, you now abandon them and join the one person who didn’t give a crap about them. Did SHE even go to their Court trial? My guess is NO.

Wonders shall never end. Friends I am not a spoiler, I speak from my heart that is why I do NOT change my style of communication with you. I can write beautifully without using strong-language but that’s not ORGANIC, that’s not me. The situation of a people for the most part is defined by their action, “you want to know why we’re in the predicament we current in, look no further than the quality of our people” - Mprez Jaa. You criticize Mamma Kandeh for his lack of empathy for working with the Jammeh government why do you ignore Dr. Touray’s (Your Intellectual)? Hello am talking to you!

A coalition is NOT going to happen, let me be the bearer of bad news. I do expect some teeny weeny parties like GMC to announce their support behind Dr. Touray soon, that’s natural but am not going to dwell on that today, maybe some other time. If there was a little chance for coalition, you’ve killed it, you have been disrespectful to the politicians on the ground from day one. Btw.. If Dr.Touray was interested in becoming a neutral candidate she should have pitched her proposal/intent to the other political parties behind close doors and asked for the mandate to lead a coalition that is the honorable thing to do. She blew that chance the moment she declare her candidature, period.

I stand behind Mamma Kandeh, I still believe he is the best shot we got to remove dictator Jammeh. “The proof of the pudding is in the eating”, Mamma took his case to the electorates and they said “Yes in you we trust”. Every region of the country responded kindly to his message and candidacy. I hope UDP and Mamma can work out a compromise and join forces. I believe with strong conviction that if we go to elections today Mamma will rack between 45-55% of the votes, that is enough to win the elections. I love the idea of a coalition because of the UNITY it signals, but I urge Mamma to NOT waste his time, if there is NO progress, MOVE-ON. They have tried this many times before it didn’t work. Like many people. I have come to terms that Mamma Kandeh is the coalition, I hope you did too :)
